    Personally, I would stick with the 10w-60 from the dealer. That engine is very powerful and the cost of the oil/filter is VERY little compared to any problem a wrong viscosity oil will provide. Savings from DIY oil changes will more than make up for a few dollars a liter difference.

    Saving said that, you could call customer service for Mobil 1, Royal Purple and Redline to get their recommended oil for your M5. Google for contact numbers….

    And no reason not to get the OEM filter from your dealer or an online site like Tischer’s BMW (best price for a 5 or 10 pack w/free shipping). Again google is your friend.

    Great car… take good care of it and it will hold great value and lots of thrills! Im sure loving my Z4 M Coupe!
