Best year for E39 ///M5?

I really like the e39 M5. What is the best year to get for this car? and what are some common problems they have? Basically, is it practical for a daily driver in terms of repairs and maintanance costs?
Chad D…. too hard to answer the question eh?

An E39 M5 costs almost the same as a regular E39 to service and maintain. But of course it uses more gas for it has a more powerful engine. And if you drive to impress, then your tires and brakes wear out faster. Repair costs are a different story. Parts costs a lot more.
There is no best year for this car. But logically, a newer model with less miles is better than an older one with more miles.
And yes, there is no reason why it can not be a practical driver. Lots of people do. Not unless you are into the green thing, and thinks a 3 cylinder car is a great idea .
